'People are afraid' - the reasons 'powerhouse' Arsenal are the side to defeat.

It's obvious why Arsenal are now many people's preferred choice to win the Premier League in the current campaign.

Consider their results against Newcastle and Crystal Palace versus those equivalent matches last season.

The Gunners have beaten all of them this time around, but lost 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race in the prior campaign.

Impenetrable Defense

Arsenal's defensive strength is a key reason why they are appearing strong to finally fulfil their title goal.

They lead the league for unbreached games (6), shots let in (3), opposition efforts (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and xGA (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is potentially the strongest in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Expertise

Their danger from dead balls is well known, but opposition teams still don't know how to neutralize the Gunners from these chances.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a intimidation presence. People are just fearful of them and it is great to see."

Title Claims

What is especially remarkable about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they maintain victories, their historic competitors face difficulties. This marks the initial occasion at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The pressure was on manager Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having invested around £250m on eight summer additions in search of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the business has so far proven successful in style, with his side second top scorers in the league and possessing the most resilient defense, despite multiple injuries.

  • Clean sheets in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Over six hours without allowing a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and experts have labeled Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now functioning with confidence and purpose.
