La Petite Maison's Bikini – A Recipe

WHere is a home-style take on a drink featured on our latest cocktail list. It's a batch prepared mix that is packed with the flavours of a Christmas time, making it ideal for your holiday party. Reserve the remaining citrus syrup you can use for brunch beverages, puddings, or for another batch of the drink.

Bikini

Makes enough for 10 guests

Ingredients for the Clementine Cordial (produces 750ml)

300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

To make the Cocktail (yields 850ml, to serve 10)

400ml good quality vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml clementine syrup (as made above)
Whole cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch

Instructions

For the Cordial: Place every components inside a saucepan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, stirring so the sugar melts. After that, remove from the burner and leave to reach room temperature fully. Transfer into a sealable bottle, cap it and refrigerate it chilled, where it will keep for about four weeks.

Preparing the Premix: Pour every spirits and syrup in a big jug, allow it to infuse for an hour, then strain preferably using muslin, so it's perfectly clear.

When ready to serve: Add 85ml of your cocktail base to a mixing glass packed with ice, gently stirring gently for a minute to cool it down. Pour into a chilled martini glass or similar, decorate with a few cranberries and finish by giving it a light spray of mandarin oil over the drink.
