I'll stamp all over 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former twice world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary face-off, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
